Urology
Urology is a branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the urinary tract, including kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra, and the male reproductive organs. In males, urology care deals with issues located in the testes, penis, scrotum and prostate. Symptoms that should not be ignored are blood in the urine and/or consistent pain or burning while urinating.
Urology nurse practitioner, Daniel Sours offers full time service while Gary Bong, Henry Rosevear, and Richard Walsh are here on a part time bases. The urologists continue to be available part time to see patients both in the clinic and the operating room. The addition of our nurse practitioner allows people to be seen Monday through Friday to address urologic needs.
Urology services have recently expanded. Procedures offered at SLV Health include bladder scan, cystoscopy, laser lithotripsy for kidney stones, laser lithotripsy for bladder stones, prostate biopsy, TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate).
