Svetlana Bresnitz, MD
Svetlana Bresnitz, MD, FAAP, joined San Luis Valley Health in 2005. She had come to the U.S. from Czechoslovakia in 1995, after graduating from the Komenius University School of Medicine. She did her pediatric training at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Bresnitz enjoys teaching and holds a position of Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Her comprehensive pediatric practice is a certified patient-centered medical home. She cares that her practice reflects values which are important to parents and patients:

Dr. Bresnitz maintains her fund of knowledge and keeps her skills up-to-date by reading relevant pediatric journals monthly, ongoing study of the American Academy of Pediatrics curriculum, and comprehensive education and active participation in the rigorous maintenance of the board certification process as prescribed by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Bresnitz enjoys diversity in her patients and has a special fondness for newborns. She encourages parents and patients, especially teens, to ask a lot of questions.
