Cherise has grown professionally while employed at SLV Health. She began her journey as a patient.

She was being seen as a patient in Women’s Health and admired the team that took care of her. She decided right then that she wanted to work at SLVH in Women’s Health.

She obtained her CMA, applied to SLVH Women’s Health Clinic, and began working as a Certified Medical Assistant, and stayed in that role for several years. Staying in the same clinic, she then applied and became the Care Coordinator.

Due to the nature of that special role, she received training and developed a “niche” in support of the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) patients who struggle with substance use. She never imagined she would enjoy working in this role as much as she does. During this time, she also returned to college and received her Bachelor’s degree in hospital administration!
