SLV Health announces new state-of-the-art MRI

ALAMOSA — In continuation of its ongoing commitment to providing high quality health care, SLV Health recently unveiled its new 128 GE Signa Artist Evo 1.5T MRI, which they describe as “highly beneficial for SLV Health and our patients”.

“This state-of-the-art MRI machine offers cutting-edge technology and imaging capabilities, enabling us to provide accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans,” writes Janet McGinnis, SLV Health Imaging Director. “With faster scan times and improved image quality, we’re reducing patient wait times and can provide more efficient care.”

The patient’s experience is a consistent priority with SLV Health, and the new MRI delivers in that area, as well.

“The advanced features of the Signa Artist Evo 1.5T allow for increased patient comfort and safety during procedures. Overall, this investment is significantly enhancing our ability to provide exceptional healthcare services to our community.”

McGinnis went on to provide more specifics, starting with decreased scan times.

“The faster scan times means we’re increasing the number of patients we can accommodate per day by an estimated three to four patients,” she says. “That helps to reduce wait times and improves patient satisfaction.”

Improved image quality is another huge benefit.

“The Signa Artist Evo 1.5T offers better imaging capabilities than our current machine,” she says, “which means more accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

“Those two benefits combined - decreasing scan times and improving image quality - means we can work more efficiently and streamline our workflow. And that leads to strong patient satisfaction and better financial outcomes.”

The new MRI machine’s advanced features also support new services, like prostate and breast imaging, and the design of the machine with its wider bore really makes the experience more comfortable and less stressful, especially for people who experience claustrophobia.

(The “bore” is, put simply, like the hole in the middle of a donut. On an MRI machine, that’s the place where the patient lays down.)

The new MRI machine also helps to meet the needs of referring physicians.

“Referring physicians rely on us to provide high-quality imaging services,” McGinnis says. “With the new machine's advanced capabilities, we can better meet those needs and expectations.”

She went on to list other advantages and, taken as a whole, it’s clear the Signa Artist Evo 1.5T MRI provides an entire suite of new benefits.

Improved images leading to more precise diagnoses and treatment. A patient-friendly design that takes into account those things that can, at times, make patients’ experiences uncomfortable. New abilities related to prostate and breast imaging. Meeting referring physicians’ needs and expectations. And decreased scan times which makes use of the MRI machine more accessible to more patients in a day and, for those patients already scheduled, less time spent waiting for the procedure to begin. And, combined, all of those advantages allow SLV Health to be better prepared to meet the needs of patients alongside the increased demand for MRI procedures.

When asked for comment, Donna Wehe, Communications Director for SLV Health, summarized the addition of the new MRI machine in seven simple, straightforward words.

“It’s a game-changer in the Valley.”
