Family of Diana E. Cantu Donates to SLV Health Cancer Center in Her Memory

Alamosa, CO – The family of Diana E. Cantu, who passed away in September 2022 from pancreatic cancer, has once again honored her memory through a generous donation to the SLV Health Cancer Center. This heartfelt contribution is part of an annual fundraising effort organized by the family each November. The funds raised will support vital services and advanced care for cancer patients in the San Luis Valley.

In keeping with Diana’s legacy of compassion and community involvement, the family has hosted multiple fundraising events over the past two years. These events bring together friends, family, and community members to celebrate her life and provide much-needed resources to help local cancer patients on their journey to healing.

“The unwavering support of the Cantu family has had a lasting impact on our Cancer Center,” said Kelly S. Gurule, SLV Health Foundation Director. “Their generosity allows us to continue offering top-quality care and expanding critical services to patients in our community.”

Funds raised in 2024 will be used to enhance patient comfort and support programs at the Cancer Center, ensuring that those undergoing treatment receive both state-of-the-art care and compassionate support during their fight against cancer.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributes to these fundraising efforts in Diana’s honor,” said a member of the Cantu family. “It’s a way for us to keep her spirit alive and to give back to a cause that was dear to her heart.”

The SLV Health Foundation invites the community to participate in future events honoring Diana E. Cantu and encourages continued support for local cancer care initiatives. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
