The Colorado Hospital Association Board has named Konnie Martin as one of its newly appointed trustees and she will begin her term in January 2025. Konnie is a trusted leader, especially in advocating for and representing rural hospitals. She has been the CEO at San Luis Valley Health since 2013 and is a leader in various local, state, and national roles. Konnie has previously served on the CHA board, including as a former chair of the association.
“When this opportunity to serve again came up, I felt that healthcare has changed so much in the past few years that it would be an entirely new learning experience. I value CHA and its role in supporting healthcare for Coloradans. Rural healthcare is under many pressures and challenges. Serving on the CHA board gives me access to crucial information and timely legislative actions that affect healthcare in the rural setting. My voice is appreciated and through my past 15 years of hospital leadership, I can bring that unique perspective,” commented Konnie. “It’s a privilege to be asked to join this group of hospital leaders across hospitals in Colorado as a trustee, and I am happy to serve.”
Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) is the leading voice of the Colorado hospital and health system community. Representing more than 100 hospitals and health systems throughout the state, CHA serves as a trusted, credible, and reliable resource on health issues, hospital data, and trends for its members, media, policymakers and the general public.
“We are so pleased to welcome Konnie back to the CHA Board. Her wisdom and perspective are unique and can be helpful not just to rural, but all Colorado hospitals. This is a time of uncertainty and what may be a significant change in health care, making Konnie’s experience and focus on solutions invaluable,” Jeff Tieman, CHA President, and CEO.
