Almost 700 families in the San Luis Valley community will be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner, thanks to the assistance of San Luis Valley Health employees.
On Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21, employees from SLV Health volunteered to help pack boxes of food and distribute them to community members. This was in addition to the more than $5,000 the organization donated at the beginning of November to help with the cost of food this year.
Lyndsey Williams, director of the La Puente’s Food Bank network of the San Luis Valley, was very appreciative of all the help. “We can’t thank their staff enough!” she said.
