As you may be aware, the World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Our team at SLV Health is strongly committed to caring for our community and keeping our healthcare team safe.

We continue to closely monitor and follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Colorado public health departments. Our website page lists the most recent guidelines for those considered to be at risk.

We are also in close contact with our healthcare partners here in the San Luis Valley through the health care coalition. We stood up our Incident Command structure on Monday (3/9) and continue to use this system as we make plans and preparations should COVID-19 present in our community. As of the time of this press release, there are no cases in the San Luis Valley and the epicenter for Colorado is currently in Pitkin County (Aspen area).

We are conducting regular updates for our administrative and clinical leadership teams. We are working tirelessly to educate our staff, prepare our facility, and remain current on all guidance. We will continue with regular updates and communications. Currently, we have established a nurse triage phone line for those experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 by pressing 9 when calling (719) 589-2511.
