SLVH Foundation
The SLV Education and Conference Center in Alamosa was filled with laughter and smiles on Friday, May 17, as the Medical Wall of Fame Committee for the San Luis Valley officially inducted the class of 2019. The induction ceremony recognized John Haskin, MD; Robert Kelly, MD; Connie Poole, LPN; Rosalina Velasquez, RN, MSN, and Roger Vigil. The Medical Wall of Fame Committee began this event in 2016 to recognize notable individuals who gave of themselves for 20 years or more to their healthcare profession and their community. Since that date, more than two dozen honorees have received a place of distinction on the wall, located on the second floor of the SLV Health Regional Medical Center.
“To see the community come out to celebrate with the inductees and their families makes this event that much more meaningful,” said SLV Health Foundation Director Kelly Gurule. “Heartfelt thank yous go out to the Medical Wall of Fame Committee for all of their hard work, as well as to Dr. Carmelo Hernandez, who presided over this memorable event.” The Medical Wall of Fame committee is continuously seeking qualified submissions for future SLV Medical Wall of Fame honorees. The criteria are that the nominee would have contributed to the health care of the San Luis Valley community through their profession and have been an active community member. The nominee should also be retired or no longer working in that capacity. Submissions should be sent in writing to Donna Wehe, SLV Health, 106 Blanca Ave., Alamosa, CO 81101 or by email to donna.wehe@slvrmc.org The Medical Wall of Fame is located on the second floor of the SLV Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa.
