SLV Health Helps Feed Local Families
SLV Health
For a number of us, the meaning of Thanksgiving usually includes feasting, four-day weekends, football games, shopping, or decorating for Christmas. For others, it’s neither a feast nor a holiday, it’s another day of trying to stay above water and feed their family.
SLV Health was able to assist families in need by donating to the SLV Food Bank. "SLV Health's donation alone will provide full Thanksgiving meals to nearly 200 families in the San Luis Valley who might otherwise be without” stated the Food Bank’s director Lyndsey Williams. She continues, “This donation is about more than putting food on our neighbors' plates - it's about ensuring that our whole community can feel the warmth and joy the holidays bring. We're so grateful for everyone that pitched in to make this happen!" SLV Health Staff volunteering at the Food Bank on Nov. 17, 2018, filling and assembling boxes for Thanksgiving distribution

SLV Health CCH’s Administrator Kelly Gallegos stated, “During a service huddle, CEO Konnie Martin asked everyone to reflect on what they were thankful for this holiday season. Many expressed gratitude for families, friends, and health. But there was also a strong sense of thankfulness for our SLV Health team and the service-driven spirit of our organization. The Feeding Families fundraiser, volunteer day at the food bank, and coat drive were a huge success and reflection of this spirit. On behalf of everyone on the senior team, I want to thank our staff for their kindness and generosity. As we continue through this holiday season, let us appreciate the blessings we have by sharing with those around us.”
SLV Health also celebrated Thanksgiving with an open to the public "Thanksgiving Dinner" at the Regional Medical Center and the Conejos County Hospital
