2016 Stephanie L. Miner Walk
SLVH Foundation
Lace up your running shoes, dust off your walking shoes, grab a friend, join a team and bring the children for the 13th annual Stephanie L. Miner 5k walk and run.
On Saturday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m., enjoy a scenic view of Cole Park while winding your way past Cattails Golf Course with hundreds of runners and walkers in one of the largest events in the San Luis Valley. As the event has grown over the years so has the option for participation. We have something for the whole family including a 1 mile healthy walk and a 2.5 mile trail along with our traditional 5K walk or run. View the Course Map.
One hundred percent of the funds raised from the Stephanie L. Miner walk will stay local, helping SLV Health’s efforts in providing screening, treatment and support for those dealing with all types of cancer. This year’s funds will be used to help build the new cancer center at SLV Health. This 5K walk and run is a great community activity for racers, runners, walkers and families. After the race, the family and friends of Stephanie L. Miner invite you to enjoy a free potato bar.
Pre-registration runs from September 9- September 21 and the cost is $30. If you don’t pre-register by September 21, then the fee is $35 on the day of the race. Teams of 10 or more that pre-register will receive a $5 per person discount, $25.
T-shirts are available to the first 1,000 registrants; please register early as sizes are limited! Shirts are available in Alamosa at the SLV Health Foundation Office 1921 Main Street; City Market, 131 Market Street; Body Tune Up, 420 State Ave; and in Monte Vista at the Monte Vista Chamber, 847 1stStreet, Monte Vista, starting September 13th.
