2015 Stephanie L. Miner Walk & Run Review
The 2015 Stephanie L. Miner event, held Saturday, September 26th, had a fantastic turnout. Over 800 people participated the day of the event, making this year one of the largest in the 12 years of the race!
Kelly Gurule, Director of San Luis Valley Health Foundation & Volunteer Services said of the event, “It is always amazing how much of a community event this has become. From start to finish everyone comes together for this great cause and because of this, the Stephanie L. Miner 5k Walk & Run has grown to be one of the premier events of the valley.” Gurule also stated, that the numbers are still being tallied, but was comfortable to say, over $ 35,000 has been raised. Shirts are available at a discount cost to those who did not get one and would still like to support and donations can still be made.
The event received tremendous community support with high numbers of race team participation as well as volunteer support. Support was received from the ASU Wrestling team, ASU Cross Country and Track teams, TSJC’s first year nursing program and many more. Thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s event.
