Amanda Lewis, PA-C, Joins SLV Health

San Luis Valley Health is pleased to welcome Amanda L. Lewis, a Physician Assistant, to the organization.  Lewis has already begun seeing patients and is practicing in the Monte Vista Medical Clinic, which will increase access to medical care for patients on that side of the Valley.

“Amanda will be instrumental in increasing the availability and access to quality care for our patients in Monte Vista and further west,” explained Antonio Gurule, Physician Integration Administrator.  “We see her and the experience she brings as being valuable to our team.”

Lewis brings 16 years of experience to San Luis Valley Health, having most recently spent time as a Physician Assistant at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Goodyear, Arizona.  Prior to that position, Lewis spent nearly six years at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix & Scottsdale Arizona.

“I was thrilled when presented with the opportunity to move to the San Luis Valley and join San Luis Valley Health,” said Lewis.  “I have been coming to this area since childhood in the summers, and to see my parents in Creede.  My parents relocated to the Valley 10 years ago and it has been the wisest decision; the beauty and the people make it very unique.  I am so blessed to call Monte Vista home and serve this community.”

Lewis has experience and training in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine, which are the primary areas she will cover at the Monte Vista Medical Clinic.
