Dr. Amy Carpenter Joins SLV Health Family Medicine
The San Luis Valley Health team is excited to welcome Dr. Amy Carpenter to the Family Medicine Clinic of the organization. Dr. Carpenter will practice out of the San Luis Valley Health La Jara Medical Clinic.
Dr. Carpenter has spent the past six years in the San Luis Valley, working with Valley-Wide Health Systems, and will, therefore, be a familiar face to many patients of the San Luis Valley.
“We are pleased to have Dr. Carpenter join our team,” stated Dr. Greg McAuliffe, Chief Medical Officer at San Luis Valley Health. “Her passion for taking care of patients in rural areas will serve the patients of our communities well.”
Prior to joining Valley-Wide Health Systems, Dr. Carpenter graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a three-year residency training in 2008.
“I am excited to be a part of all that San Luis Valley Health is doing,” said Dr. Carpenter. “The organization is definitely moving in a direction that enables them to be viable in the future, with respect to the changes occurring in health care, and being part of this team is a great opportunity.”
“I have a passion for rural medicine and look forward to helping the patients of the La Jara and surrounding communities, as well as becoming involved in some of the activities that those patients are involved in themselves,” Dr. Carpenter went on to say.
During her free time, Dr. Carpenter enjoys biking, running, cross country skiing and camping. Her and her husband, Kevin, have two children.
Dr. Carpenter can be reached for an appointment by calling (719)-274-5000.
