SLV Health Holiday Toy/Food Drive
Last week San Luis Valley Health set out to give back to the community. The SLV Health Giving Tree allowed individuals to donate food and unwrapped toy donations. The idea was, “fill under our tree to full under others’.”
We accepted donations at many of our locations. From our Regional Medical Center alone, we received over 50 boy toys, 60 girl toys, and 100 gender neutral toys for a total of over 200 toy donations. The toys donated were collected and dropped of at the Children’s Advocacy Center.
Toy and food donations from the La Jara Clinc, Conejos County Hospital, and Antonito Clinic were also collected during the Staff Holiday Dinner. The Clinics and Hospital had 19 toys and 27 food items donated along with a $500.00 donation to the children’s advocacy center and a $100.00 donation to the food bank.
Canned and non-perishable food items were collected for local food banks. Over 400 food items were collected and donated. We would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who made a donation. You helped to make the holiday season brighter for those in need! Thank you to everyone involved as there were many who worked to plan and organize the drive to obtain the best results for the drive. Thank you!
Toys donated were dropped off at the Children's Advocacy Center on December 21st.
