SLV Health Welcomes New SBIRT Health Educator
The Behavioral Health Department of San Luis Valley Health recently welcomed Jolene Vahsholtz as its newest team member. Vahsholtz will serve as an SBIRT Health Educator, an acronym for “Screening Brief Intervention Referral to Treatment.”
“I am excited to join a dynamic organization and look forward to being part of this wonderful team,” said Vahsholtz. “I am looking forward to taking a proactive approach to help those who may be at-risk for developing substance use disorders by providing education and options that are available to them.”
Born in Chile, Vahsholtz moved to Alamosa in 1995 and graduated from Adams State in 2009. Prior to joining SLV Health, Vahsholtz worked as a Caseworker for the Alamosa Department of Human Services and most recently worked in Case Management for the Arrow Child and Family Ministries in Tomball, Texas.
"Jolene comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experiences that will support our SBIRT program, stated Audrey Reich, Behavioral Health Manager. “We are confident she will be able to provide our patients with the resources they need to prevent substance use and health-related problems."
In her spare time, Vahsholtz enjoys reading, hiking, and enjoying nature.
Jolene can be reached at (719) 589-8008 or you can visit the Behavioral Health Webpage to view all the services the department offers.
