Thanksgiving Blood Drive Draws 23 Participants
Last week, San Luis Valley Health hosted a blood drive in partnership with Bonfils on the SLV Health campus.
The event saw 23 participants come out to donate blood, six of which were first-time donors.
“Our goal was to collect 23 units, so we came in right at our goal,” explained Jhoanna Cura, SLV Health’s Laboratory Supervisor. “I am so glad that we had such a great turnout, especially because it was during Thanksgiving week.”
According to Cura, the 23 units of blood that were donated is enough to help save 69 lives.
