The Annual Stephanie L. Miner Women's Imaging Center 5K Walk/Run takes place on a fall Saturday morning in Cole Park; registration begins about four weeks prior. Held since 2004, proceeds from the event first helped with construction costs and to maintain the Stephanie L. Miner's Women's Imaging Center that officially opened in 2006. Event proceeds are now earmarked to help with the new cancer center at SLV Health.
SLV Health Employee Campaign
Since 2004, employees have given back over $400,000 toward improving patient services and supporting one another. The Employee Campaign is the main fundraiser for our Employee Assistance Program, a program that has assisted many employees and their families facing difficult circumstances. Through the years, the money has also been used to purchase items for several departments. From the very simple — such as teddy bears for our surgical patients, replacing all of the patient room TV’S throughout the SLV Health Regional Medical Center, to a completely remodeled cafeteria where both staff and visitors can dine — employee contributions have made a BIG difference throughout the hospital.
The CARE Fund provides financial resources for patients to acquire care associated with the Stephanie L. Miner Women's Imaging Center who cannot otherwise pay for these services. Since November 2008, more than 140 women have since received assistance for procedures that include mammograms, and breast and pelvic ultrasounds.
The CARE fund was started by a generous donation from the Magnolia Society and the Del Monte Gun Club and now receives contributions from several other local organizations.
