Victoria Kretche-Kitchel DNP, AGACNP-BC, MSNEd, RN, CEN, CFRN

Victoria has joined the SLV Health Hospitalist team with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice along with her certified Nurse Practitioner degree with an emphasis in adults and geriatrics in acute care specialty. Victoria has been a registered nurse team member to the House Supervisor team at SLV Health, which will continue as needed. If you’re not sure which role she is in, look for her color-coded clothing as a hint. When she’s a Hospitalist, she’ll be in a pink scrub top. When she’s in a blue scrub top, she is the House Supervisor. When she is in lay clothes, she is working on special projects for professional development and nursing administration.

She received her doctoral from the University of Arizona, a hybrid experience. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with her BSN and MSNEd. She went from RN to Paramedic at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. She got her start in nursing at Otero Junior College in La Junta.

From working in the ICU, ED, or being a flight nurse, her varied experience makes her a strong addition to the provider team at SLV Health. “We care about each other here. I love working at SLV Health. The teamwork is amazing, and I feel valued.”

Having her advanced degrees has also allowed her to teach nursing courses at Adams State University. “I love teaching and growing nurses” commented Kretche-Kitchel. Her core philosophy in healthcare is to “meet people where they are at.”

When she’s not at work, she is a fiber (wool) producer and artist. She raises alpacas, goats and sheep for their wool. She enjoys going rock hounding with her husband and they both love the outdoors.
