Richard L. Snider, MD
Richard L. Snider, M.D. joins the Cardiology Team at SLV Health. He joins Dr. Lee Grigsby and Tylen Pavlovsky, PA-C in caring for patients in the Cardiology Clinic, located at the SLVH Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colorado.
Dr. Snider graduated with his Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine followed by his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque.
Dr. Snider has been in practice as a cardiologist since 2006. He worked as an invasive cardiologist after fellowship in southern Oregon for over 3 years and thereafter returned to Albuquerque working at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center for over 10 years. He was a faculty member during this time at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine where he completed the Medical Education Scholars Program, worked as the Associate Program Director for the cardiovascular fellowship, and was an active participant in trainee education.
He worked as a locum tenens physician since 2021 including most recently here in the San Luis Valley where he made the decision to join the SLV Health team.
When he isn’t working, Dr. Snider enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, playing guitar, fishing the beautiful Rio Grande and working in his wood shop.
