Cynthia Wheat, MD

Cynthia Wheat, MD, is a member of SLV Health’s Hospitalist team. She is from Overland Park, KS, and completed her residency and doctorate of medicine at the University of Kansas. She was a Thurgood Marshall Fellow at the University of Missouri, completing her Master of Educational & Counseling Psychology after a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston University. For four years at KU, she belonged to the Latino Medical Student Association.

Her care philosophy includes providing the highest level of care for all individuals, while including input from patients, and their families as allowed, and respecting their goals of care and quality of life, and providing education regarding disease processes. Her son goes to Adams State University, and daughter goes to Boston University. She enjoys going to the symphony and ballet, and watching sports of all kinds, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, and KU Jayhawks.
