Amarilys Rojas, MD
Amarilys Rojas, M.D., joined the San Luis Valley Health Pediatrics Clinic located in the Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colorado. She graduated with her BA from Tufts University in Child Development and her Medical Degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed seven months of training at the pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine & Texas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Rojas also did additional residency training in global child health which included being a pediatrician in Malawi, Africa. She also completed a seven-month pediatric training in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the University of Colorado & Children's Hospital of Colorado.
She is a born leader and educator with a wide variety of experience and education. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
When she is not caring for patients under age 18, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors, restoring furniture and jewelry, and salsa dancing.
