Larry Holder Cancer and Exercise Program
Foundation, SLV Health
The Larry Holder Cancer and Exercise Program is currently looking for participants for its upcoming fall study program. The study is a fully-funded, 12-week exercise program offered to all adult cancer survivors at any stage or treatment or remission, scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 26.
In order to accommodate as many participants as possible, both morning and afternoon sessions will be offered three times a week at the Alamosa Family Recreation Center. This study is made possible through a new two-year grant from the Colorado Cancer Coalition, ongoing support from SLV Health, the Kinesiology Department at Adams State University and proceeds from the Larry Holder Golf Tournament, held annually in Monte Vista.
For those San Luis Valley residents interested in being a part of the study, there will be an informational meeting held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 and also at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15 at the SLV Health Education and Conference Center, located at 1921 Main Street in Alamosa. For more information, contact Dr. Tracey Robinson, program director, at tlrobins@adams.edu or Alexis Colwell, graduate student supervisor, at Colwellak1@grizzlies.adams.edu or by calling (303) 547-6741.
