Ski Hi Stampede Tough Enough to Wear Pink Day - POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, this event has been postponed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will update this page when a revised date has been decided on. Thank you for your patience during this time.
The Ski-Hi Stampede, Colorado's oldest pro rodeo, designates a special day during their PRCA Rodeo Performance called "Tough Enough to Wear Pink Day." The initiative is designed to bring awareness of local efforts in the fight against breast cancer.
One hundred percent of the profits from the "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" t-shirt sales, tips and a portion of Saturday's rodeo ticket sales will be donated to the Stephanie L. Miner Women's Imaging Center at San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, showing their commitment to assist efforts to fight against cancer in the San Luis Valley and beyond.
The money goes towards various aspects of the imaging center, including the purchase of a brand-new digital mammography unit in 2019.
This year, the event will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020. Rodeo goers are asked to wear pink for the Saturday rodeo. The hope is to have a "Pink Out" in the grandstands.
