Injury Prevention

Functional Movement Clinic
Monthly clinic screenings for athletes are offered by SLV Health Pro Therapy Department.  They are one-on-one screenings to determine injury risk and to suggest specific exercises to improve performance and decrease injury risk.

Injury Prevention Camps:
Teams and coaches can set up an entire Saturday injury prevention camp.  Camps are held in conjunction with Cross Fit Acclimate in Alamosa.  Student Athletes will be instructed in correct lifting techniques, correct movement patterns that are SPORTS SPECIFIC and mobility strategies to decrease the likelihood of injury.  Camps include a free t-shirt for each participant and a free lunch provided by SLV Health.  Contact Corrie Jones at Pro Therapy to set up a weekend for these camps.

Jump Training and ACL Injury Prevention Training Clinics:
Programs are offered to teams that are at risk of injury due to the type of sports they play. Therapists assess risk of injury, give safety recommendations for training, instruct correct jumping/landing techniques and give recommendations for strengthening, plyometric and balance training to avoid injury.
