Kalee Chavez-Miller, Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, grew up in La Jara and is excited to be practicing close to home and family. She stated, "I love having that inter-connectivity with people. Caring for patients re-charges me!" She received her undergrad at CSU with an emphasis in Food Science and Human Nutrition. She graduated from the Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Regis University and then as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Simmons College, Boston. She returned to the SLV as a nutrition educator for the Alamosa WIC program. Kalee traveled throughout the SLV as a nurse home visitor for the Nurse Family Partnership program and gained unique insights into patient care and education during her clinical rotations in the San Luis Valley. Her focus is on rural healthcare needs. She loves the challenge that comes with caring for individuals and families throughout their lifespan. Her personal interests include spending time with her family and being in the outdoors: beach or mountain top, it doesn't matter, and she is newly obsessed with cross country skiing.
